These gluten-free cannelini bean brownies hit all the right notes and are refined sugar free, vegan, high protein, and completely fat free! It uses only pure plant ingredients, not even baking powder!

When I first put this recipe together, I was so surprised, because even without baking powder, it rose a bit! There are a few hidden ingredients that make these cannelini bean brownies extra delicious and also very balancing for gut health as well!

First, we have the cannelini beans! From a Western nutrition perspective, they are high in protein, iron, and magnesium. But in Ayurveda, cannelini beans are high in Vata dosha, or Air energy. In Ayurvedic nutrition, we can balance our Pitta dosha and Kapha dosha with foods high in Vata dosha. That is how we balance health, by eating the opposite of whatever dosha is imbalanced.
